Following our 74th anniversary earlier this year, Transformers & Rectifiers Ltd. continues to build on over seven decades of experience in delivering reliable, high-performance transformer and rectifier solutions around the world. Our commitment to quality engineering and global collaboration was further demonstrated during our recent Asian Tour, which included visits and meetings in Indonesia and Hong Kong.
The journey provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with existing partners, explore new collaborations, and share insights into our proven transformer and rectifier technologies that support critical infrastructure projects worldwide.
Expanding Partnerships in Indonesia
Our first stop took us to Jakarta, where we met with two influential names in Indonesia’s power and transport sectors — MRT Jakarta and PLN Distribution.
Both meetings offered a chance to discuss how T&R’s proven traction transformer and rectifier systems can support Indonesia’s growing infrastructure. With major investments being made in rail transport and power networks, the demand for robust, efficient, and reliable electrical systems has never been greater.
Drawing on our experience in traction power conversion and bespoke transformer design, we shared insights on how our technology can be adapted to meet the country’s unique operational needs and environmental conditions.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing in Hong Kong
From Jakarta, our team travelled to Hong Kong, where we were warmly received by Kum Shing Group — a well-respected engineering and infrastructure company with a long history of delivering high-quality projects across the region.
Our discussions centred on future collaboration opportunities, particularly in the areas of power network upgrades and substation modernisation. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, align on technical challenges, and reinforce our shared commitment to advancing electrical infrastructure through innovation and engineering expertise.
At the same time, our sister company, T&R Test Equipment Ltd., conducted technical presentations and hands-on training sessions for our Hong Kong distributors. The synergy between our two companies highlights a complete solution — from power transformation and rectification to high-voltage testing and maintenance.
